Dr. Michael W. Budler is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska and longtime Lincoln physician. Dr. Budler received his Bachelor of Arts(B.A.) from Washington University in St. Louis in 1990. He earned his Medical Doctor degree(M.D.) from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and completed a Radiology Residency at the University of Kansas in Wichita. He completed his Vascular Interventional Radiology Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City and is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology.

Serving as the chief interventional radiologist at Bryan Medical Center, Dr. Budler has been a leader in bringing the most modern interventional procedures to Lincoln. Dr. Budler was the 1st interventional radiologist in the country to perform ultrasound guided percutaneous tenotomy/fasciotomy with the Tenex TX1 device in 2012. He is a member of the Tenex Education Consultant Group and heads the only official Tenex “Center of Excellence” in Nebraska, training physicians throughout the country.

Dr. Budler is a senior member of the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery. One of the first physicians to perform intra-arterial lysis for treatment of stroke in Nebraska, he is currently an expert consultant for MIVI Neuroscience. He has been performing Kyphoplasty for spinal compression fractures since 2003 and ranks in the top 10% of all physicians in the country for numbers of kyphoplasties treated. He was also the first physician in Nebraska to offer SpineJack for treatment of compression fractures.

As the 1st Lincoln physician to perform laser ablation of varicose veins, Dr. Budler teams up with Drs. Allen and Himmelberg to form the most experienced team of physicians treating venous disease in Nebraska. With over 40 years of combined laser experience, Advanced Radiology is the only group in the country to receive the AngioDynamics EVLT Award of Excellence for 3 consecutive years. Advanced Radiology has been awarded this distinction for outstanding success in laser vein treatments more than any interventional radiology team in the nation.

When Dr. Budler is not helping coach soccer, he enjoys skiing, hiking and fly fishing with his family.
